Find Honesty In What You Never Knew About Marriage, Divorce & Starting Over.

Have you ever been in a relationship and wondered,

“How the hell did I get here?

Every free moment your mind wonders in reflections from the day you met to the day things began to fall apart.  Through one eye, you married the person you were intended to and in looking ahead you are still committed to trying and figuring out this life the best way you know how.  On the other hand, your hindsight has gotten the better of you and you now know and can admit what you failed or blatantly refused to acknowledge before you said I do; I honestly should not be here. You then either initiate or concede to ending your marriage.

Imagine applying a tourniquet to stop a bleeding wound. The pressure causes excruciating pain. While there may be some relief in being done with this marriage - possibly for good, there is still an open wound that needs urgent care and attention. Whether you seek professional help or decide to self-heal, you find a way to move on – healed or not. Around the next corner is a fresh season and a new start, but now you can’t help but wonder if happily-ever-after-divorce is even possible.

The statistics say it's futile. People with opinions wonder why you would try again; “Haven’t you learned anything from the last time?” Well, relax. You’re here now.

Don’t Ask Me SH#% About Marriage

Meet Chris L. Lyles Sr.

Christopher L. Lyles, Sr. has lived most of his life by the motto, “Control what you can control and let God handle the rest.”

He has a nearly three-decade career in corporate technology and just as many years as an ordained minister. However, as a first-time author, he taps into a different familiarity. He is also a two-time divorcee.

In his first book, Don’t Ask Me Sh%! About Marriage, Chris shares the impacts divorce and remarriage have had on his life and faith. While he doesn’t consider himself a relationship expert, he jokingly says, “Based on my relationship track record, some may say that I’m an expert at getting them [relationships] wrong.”

Despite his failures in marriage, Chris believes in the foundational principles of marriage and the value and stability it has in our societal structure.
